This is the beginning of a new venture. During the pandemic I read an article about how some enterprising folks took a 20 year old Little Tikes sandbox called “The Tuggy” and turned it into a seaworthy vessel. One that actually can be licensed in Minnesota, too!

I found this beauty during cleanup week – but was fully prepared to drive 3 hours and pay $35 to pick it up last fall. One small puncture in the side and I have already remedied this problem by asking on a Reddit forum for a solution (a rubber membrane and two stainless steel pieces bolted together). After I do the initial work to make it a bit more buoyant, I will get it painted and have some 3D printed accessories. A quick order on Etsy for a custom made flag and I will be in business!

My first attempt to float will be in a pool…just in case…before an open water test.

Captain hat secured, the top name so far is the S.S. Tidy Cat since this was clearly the neighborhood outdoor litter box before it was thrown out.
