Deputies: Fisherman lose equipment that fell through ice on Green Bay

GREEN BAY - After receiving a call that a snowmobiler had gone through the ice, the Brown County Sheriff's Office found out that two fishermen lost just equipment on the bay of Green Bay.

The sheriff's office said it received a report at 9:58 a.m. Tuesday that a snowmobile had fallen through the ice and the operator was yelling for help near Longtail Point. Line Fishing

The sheriff's office and the Suamico Fire Department responded with personnel, an air boat, a drone and medical services as they started looking for the snowmobile operator. Two ice fishermen told deputies they lost a piece of equipment in the water and no one was actually in danger, according to deputies.

No one was injured and deputies are still looking for the equipment.

Ice conditions will likely not improve as the National Weather Service forecast calls for temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40s for the next week with overnight lows mainly around 30.
