Corinth supplying HFW line pipe for North Sea gas/hydrogen project | Offshore

MAROUSSI, Greece  — ONE-Dyas has contracted Corinth Pipeworks to provide High Frequency Welded (HFW) steel pipes for the new N05-A gas production platform in the Dutch North Sea, 20 km north of the Ems estuary.

The facilities will be powered by electricity generated by the nearby Riffgat wind farm. Steel Pipe Astm A53

Corinth will manufacture about 16 km of HFW line pipe, including external three-layer polypropylene coating and concrete weight coating, with a diameter of 20 inches and a wall thickness of 20.6 mm.

The HFW pipes will be delivered later this year.

In addition, the pipeline will be certified according to the ASME B31.12 Option B code for hydrogen pipelines, supporting plans for future transportation of up to 100% hydrogen.

Weld Piping Electricity from the Riffgat wind farm will, in the future, be converted to green hydrogen and transported via pipelines to the local onshore grid.
