• Tjhoko Paint Line Bouquet decoupage paper (400 x 300mm)

• Tjhoko Paint Clear Glaze

Clean the locker with lacquer thinners and mutton cloth; leave to dry for at least 20 minutes. We painted the outside of the steel cabinet with two coats of Simply Siphiwe and the drawer fronts with two coats of Super Sonette, allowing 40 minutes drying time between coats.

The sides of the drawers were decorated using Tjhoko Paint’s new range of decoupage paper. First, clean the sides of the drawers with lacquer thinners, using a clean piece of mutton cloth. Leave to dry (at least 20 minutes). Then paint your surface in two coats of Super Sonette, allowing 40 minutes drying time between coats.

Trim your decoupage sheet to fit the side of the drawers, then put the sheet in place. Hold it in position, then apply undiluted Tjhoko Paint Clear Glaze all over the woven decoupage sheet with a clean brush. Should folds be visible, gently smooth them out with your finger. Leave to dry (at least 1 hour) then neaten the edges using 100-grit sandpaper.
